Google IO 2019

Google I/O brings together developers from around the globe for talks, hands-on learning with Google experts, and a first look at Google’s latest developer products with latest mind blowing technology. But what is this IO? To more of the techies it is Input Output, but here in “I/O” stands for “Innovation in the Open”. You can find the complete keynote here. Following are some of its amazing highlights.

Android Q Announced

Android Q Dark theme

Google IO debuted Android Q beta 3 – the 10th generation of the Android operating system, and along with it new features for phone and tablet users.

Two big highlights here: Dark Theme is officially coming to Android Q and Focus Mode is a new introduction, switching off apps you select that you know pull you away from your work, such as email. It’s coming to both Android Q, and the older P version of the operating system.

Google Maps AR mode

Maps live directions

Intended to help people start off their walks heading in the right direction. Hold your phone up and you’ll see a camera view of the world in front of you. Google Maps will compare this image to its Street View data to determine your exact position/orientation better than GPS alone can, then draw arrows that point you in the right direction. The feature is rolling out on Pixel devices and soon will follow others.

Next generation Google Assistant

Google Assistant at your finger tips
A Better Google Assistant

The Voice Assistant becomes stronger, more powerful and more intelligent. It performs the tasks in bundle. Runs your routine. Just say HEY GOOGLE! Good Morning . It automatically reads weather and news as well as you can customize and command what next it can do like opening apps, listening to music and so on all this with just in one go. Google also showed off a new Driving Mode and Personal References to help Google figure out when you’re referring to your mother’s house or Mom’s House barbecue and now it comes in 6 different voices, check out the video full video here

Upgrades to Google Lens

Google Lens is an increasingly useful party trick in Google’s App arsenal, using image recognition to deliver information based on what your camera is looking at. At Google IO 2019, a demo showed how a combination of mapping data and image recognition will let Google Lens make recommendations from a restaurants menu, just by pointing your camera at it. When the bill arrives, point your camera at the receipt and it’ll show you tipping info and bill splitting help.

Google Duplex on the Web

Remember Google Duplex, the slightly-creepy Google Assistant service that could make calls and bookings on your behalf . It gets more interesting this year, lets Say you want to make an online reservation for a car rental. Duplex can now assist in that process by populating the required fields. Notably, it only assists — human sign-off is still required.

It’s important to say that this feature could offer real benefits to those who have difficulty typing or interacting with online reservations

Google Search : The best one of IO 2019

Google remains a search giant, and that’s something it’s not forgotten at Google IO 2019. However, search is about to become far more visually rich, thanks to the inclusion of AR camera trickery coming directly into search results.

Google’s on-stage demonstration showed how a medical student could search for a muscle group, and be presented within mobile search results with a 3D representation of the body part. Not only could it be played with within the search results, it could be placed on the users desk to be seen at real scale from your smartphones screen. Even larger things, like an AR shark, could be put into your AR screen, straight from the app.

These were some of the highlights of the Google IO 2019. Let me know which feature amazed you and send me things that you would want to see them up in the next IO

CES 2019 : Futuristic Gadgets

CES is the first big trade-show of the new year and the world’s largest tech show on earth held at Las Vegas. 1. Full View: The complete display is shown to enjoy the crystal clear picture.
2. Zero View: Screen completely hides. Although the audio can be heard.
3. Line View: 5 widgets are displayed viz. Music, Clock, Frame, Mood, Home Dashboard

Improved Google Assistant

Google announced in CES two amazing features

The Interpreter Mode  :- which lets people have back-and-forth conversations among 27 languages using a Google Smart Display.

The Google assistance connect program :- which is essentially API’s that developers are going to be able to use with their product (both hardware and software), to tie in the Google Assistant. Google wants the Assistant to be a part of your entire life, not just the smart home products in your home. This is going to help the Google Assistant support all types of different devices that it didn’t expect, including those from companies that may not be big partners of Google already.

Bell Nexus Air Taxi

Bell-Nexus-Hexacopter

Drones are doing pretty much everything from taking selfies and shooting bird-eye-view vistas, to showering flowers and delivering packages. And if Bell could have their way, drones could transport humans too! At the 2019 CES, Bell (not to be confused with the helmet brand) displayed its large bird – the Nexus, which adds another dimension to mobility

Google Maps introduces Two wheeler shortcuts in India

Getting stuck in traffic is like the most chaotic task one can ever go through. The horns getting bumped every second which make you mad even more than standing still and gazing the traffic lights for hours. We often find ways to either not travel or to walk, take a two wheeler. But taking a two wheeler and traveling on the same route makes no more difference. Google helps you here to find shortcuts specifically for two wheeler.

Image result for two wheeler mode google maps

Google Maps has introduce a new mode particularly for Indian market called Two Wheeler mode (v9.67.1) . You just need to update your google maps. This mode on Google Maps will show routes that are accessible only by two wheeler. Many of these roads shown on the two wheeler mode will be too narrow for cars. This mode will allow two wheeler users to get to their destinations faster, and also use short-cuts that cars cannot. The ETA(Estimated Time) will be calculated based on the data received exclusively from bikers and not from the traditional ETA data which is derived from four-wheelers on the road. This will make a huge difference, as normally in congested traffic areas, bikers can move more freely than car drivers. It also shows you the time where you get the most traffic so that you can plan your journey in advance.

iOS 11: All you need to know

Introduced on June 5, 2017 at the Worldwide Developers Conference, iOS 11 is the next-generation version of iOS. As Apple CEO Tim Cook said on stage, the update takes the best and most advanced operating system and turns it up to 11. Here is the list of features you need to know.

  1. Lock Screen/Notification Center

The Lock screen and the Notification Center have been merged into one entity in iOS 11. When you pull down from the top of the iPhone or iPad’s display to access your notifications, it’s the Lock screen that comes down now instead of a separate Notification Center window.

  2. Control Center

    ios11controlcenter-800x692

Control Center, accessed by swiping upwards from the bottom of the display, takes full screen now.. There are two top sections for basic networking options and Apple Music controls, plus sliders for volume and brightness. Smaller icons are available for rotation lock, Do Not Disturb, and other options.

  3. Files App filesappios11-800x692

There is no iCloud Drive app in iOS 11, because it’s been expanded into a more comprehensive “Files” app that’s designed to mimic the Finder app on the Mac. It integrates with other cloud services like Dropbox, Box, One Drive, Google Drive, and more.

  4. Siri

Siri has been updated with more realistic male and female voices that are designed to more closely mimic natural human speech. Siri can do things like suggest a topic you might like in Apple News based on Safari browsing habits, or suggest a Calendar reminder for an appointment you’ve booked on the web.”Type to Siri” is a new feature you can turn on that allows you to type your Siri queries instead of speaking them aloud. Finally, the SiriKit API that allows developers to add Siri integration into their apps works with more kinds of apps like bill paying, task management, and QR codes in iOS 11.

  5. Messages(App switcher)

iOS 11, there’s a new App Drawer located below the text entry in Messages that’s designed to make it easier to access apps and stickers. All installed apps and stickers are located in the App Drawer and can be selected with a tap and scrolled through with swipes. The first icon in the App Drawer opens the App Store for downloading new apps. There’s a new Messages in iCloud feature that will let you store all of your iMessages in iCloud. Messages will sync across all devices, including new devices

  6. Maps

iOS 11 supports indoor maps of select malls and airports around the world, displaying full layouts of each location with icons for restaurants, bathrooms, and other notable indoor landmarks. Maps is gaining lane guidance, which is designed to help you avoid missing a sudden turn or an exit by telling you which lane to be in, and it will now display the speed limit of the road that you’re on.

  7. Music

In iOS 11, you can make an Apple Music profile that allows you to share playlists with friends and see your friends’ playlists. Profiles can be set to public or private, as with any social network.

  8. Camera

Now withing camera you can use a slider to select a portion of the Live Photo that looks the best. Since Live Photos are essentially short videos, it’s like pulling the best still shot out of a video. There’s also an option to crop Live Photos to keep only a portion of the motion recording, and there are new Loop, Bounce, and Long Exposure options. When you FaceTime someone in iOS 11 on an device that’s capable of taking Live Photos, there’s a new button for capturing a Live Photo during the chat.

  9. Notes

Notes features an Instant Notes option that works with the Apple Pencil, and Inline Drawing for annotating notes with simple sketches and images. Notes includes a new Document Scanner that senses and scans a document, crops the edges, and removes tilt or glare before allowing the document to be edited, saved, and shared. The new Document Scanner is able to effectively replace third-party document scanning apps.

  10. Developers bundle

      1. ios11devhero

Drag and drop has been integrated throughout iOS and can be used in the following places: Home screen, Dock, Reminders, Calendar, Messages, Spotlight, Files, Safari, Contacts, iBooks, News, Notes, Photos, Maps, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.

      1. ARKit, a new framework that allows you to easily create unparalleled augmented reality experiences for iPhone and iPad. By blending digital objects and information with the environment around you, ARKit takes apps beyond the screen, freeing them to interact with the real world in entirely new ways.
      2. Core ML, a new foundational machine learning framework used across Apple products, including Siri, Camera, and QuickType. Core ML delivers blazingly fast performance with easy integration of machine learning models enabling you to build apps with intelligent new features using just a few lines of code.
      3. “Core NFC” a new framework that allows apps to read Near Field Communication (NFC) tags. According to Apple, this lets developers create apps that can read tags to “give users more information about their physical environment and the real-world objects in it.” Specific examples include apps that can provide information about items in a store, or exhibits in a museum.

CES 2017 : Cars in the future

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas not only included fancy Cars but build with technology and the futuristic factor to it. Nowadays cars can have more technology in them than your average home. Whether it be electric power, in-car entertainment or self-driving/autonomous capabilities, modern cars are packed to the brim with tech. Few might not be the actual car that you will find on the roads but a concept/ prototypes of them.

Lets see what innovations have the car manufacturers come up with for 2017? Here are my favorites:

  1. BMW Inside Future Conceptbmwiinsidefuture-03

The i Future’s driver’s cockpit changes depending on the drive mode. Echo voice-assistant, and the new BMW HoloActive Touch, with fingers a few inches away from the screen/interface, elements of the screen’s output are projected holographically to the user’s fingertips. Touching, sliding, or otherwise interacting with those holographic menu choices and screens not only controls the interface, but also produces tactile feedback system adds up to the beauty of this car .

  2. Faraday Future FF91

  3. Mercedes Generation EQ

    merci-gq

It’s an all-electric SUV, built on a scalable platform, the system can be powered to up to 420bhp, depending on its use. In lieu of mirrors, the Generation EQ uses cameras to display what’s happening behind. Mercedes is also aiming to deliver a range of around 310 miles, while also retaining Mercedes tradition of building luxurious and safe cars.

  4. Bosch concept car

    bosch-concept-car-6

Bosch’s concept car packs a gesture control system that somehow provides haptic feedback. Hop into the car, and facial recognition will change the seat, mirror, HVAC and music settings to your tastes. There are screens for both driver and passenger, as well as a center stack that’s also a large collection of screens.
